I went to the doctor yesterday for my 16 week checkup. Everything apparently looks good. The doctor listened to the heartbeat, and based on that, he is predicting a boy. He said he is right about 50% of the time. Lily, however, is convinced that it is a girl. She is constantly talking about how "she" is doing and telling me how she is going to have a sister. What do you think? Vote on my survey on the side.

Lily came with Matt and me to the doctor yesterday. We told her we were going to go see how the baby was doing. While we were there, she told the doctor she was going to hold the baby. After they got home, Lily told Matt that she thought the doctor was going to take the baby out of my tummy, and she would get to hold her for a minute while they checked on how she was doing. I guess she was pretty disappointed when she found out she would have to wait a little longer to see her "sister."

What was the heart rate at. My boys were usually in the girl range. I never could tell by that. But I did tell you I think you are having a boy. ;)

This is such good news! I'm so happy to hear that things are going well with this pregnancy. I don't know what to think about doctors predicting the sex based on the heartbeat... with our twins, our doctor first predicted they were both boys, then the next visit said it was a boy and a girl, then she finally got it right the visit before we found out it was two girls. I guess she was just making sure she was going to be right no matter the outcome!
Anyway, I hope you're feeling more and more like you can really embrace this miracle... I know it must be so hard to be afraid of another disappointment. Please know you're in my thoughts and prayers.
Wow! I've never heard of predicting a baby's sex by the heart beat. I don't know if he's right though because kids seem to have some sort of premonition or something.
all right, so do you know yet what it is? I keep checking to see if you have discovered the sex yet.
